How to select a therapist?
|
It is important you know the standard of healthcare you
will receive. Massage unlike medicine, chiropractic and physiotherapy
does not have a registration board. So how do you ensure the massage
therapist is of the highest quality?
 |
Is the therapist qualified with either: Cert V in
Massage (for Relaxation Massage only), Diploma of Remedial Massage,
Advanced Diploma in Myotherapy, or Advanced Diploma in Sports
Massage. |

Is your therapist a member of a massage
association. All associations require their members to undergo a
continuing education program ensuring that your therapist is up with
the latest research and best practice. |
|
|
Can you claim the Remedial Massage against your
Healthcare Fund. Health Funds require therapists to have insurance,
senior first aid and association membership. This also ensures that
you can get the rebate from your health fund. |
